Farah Khan is a woman entrepreneur who specializes in hand embroidery products, specially from Kashmir. She specialises in exquisite range of hand embroidered shawls, stoles, scarves and uses
pashmina, cashmere, fine wool and silk fabrics. Though the products are being manufactured since a long time she started direct marketing and retailing them in the year 1999 through various exhibitions in India and abroad. With her background and formative years immersed in rich history, traditions and culture, her work and quality of products have caught the imagination and appreciation of women connoisseurs all over the world in a very short span of time.
She designs products with traditional touch to meet the ever growing demands of her clients. An avid traveller, she has led delegations of women entrepreneurs from Hyderabad for enterprise development programs in USA, organised seminars on Indo-US business development in NISIET Hyderabad, given lectures on entrepreneurship development in various International Women’s conferences in India and around the world. After gaining experience in international marketing she launched her company
“Kashmir Krafts” in 2000
and her label of "Farah Shawls" in 2010 with the aim of promoting her
Kashmir Hand Embroidery products.
She blends her Indian culture with her experiences of travels all over the world to create a stunning range of contemporary stoles for women. Most of her weaves and embroideries have her distinct element of creativity and exclusivity. Her designs are a fusion of fashion trends and traditional art, which makes her work unique and different from others. Her exquisite hand embroideries are pieces of art.
